A man seen to have jumped into the river at St Ives sparked a massive emergency response.
Cambridgeshire police was called at 11.50am on Sunday (March 24) after a man was spotted in the River Great Ouse close to the Thicket near All Saints Church.
Two fire engines and a rescue vehicle, a community first responder, an ambulance, a paramedic officer and members of the East of England Ambulance Service’s hazardous area response team were also sent to the scene.
They were stood down by 12.50pm as the man had been found “safe and alive”.
