A MAN had his face slashed by an attacker who attempted to rob him.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was walking through the park in New Road, Ramsey, at about 3.30pm on Friday (October 29) when he was approached by a man who asked for money.

He said he had none but the man asked what was in his bag. He then attacked the victim, punching him once and then slashing his face and one of his hands with a small yellow-handled craft knife.

The victim dropped the bag and ran off towards Great Whyte while the attacker made off towards Newton Road.

The victim suffered minor cuts to an eyebrow and his hand and was treated at a nearby health centre.

The attacker is described as white, 40 to 45, about 5ft 9in, with greying facial hair, and was described as having a London accent. He wore a black hooded top and blue jeans.
