A 28-year-old man from Huntingdon has been released under investigation following the rape of a 16-year old girl.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on Friday afternoon, with a large police presence and cordon in place around the California Road area.

The man was arrested on Monday and has now been released under investigation, officers confirmed to The Hunts Post.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “Reports of a serious assault in California Road were investigated at around 1.30pm.”
