A MAN in his late twenties is critically injured after he was involved in a crash near Alconbury last night.

The casualty was rushed to Addenbooke’s Hospital after the car he was driving ended up on its roof and in a dyke on the Great North Road around 11pm.

The man had to be released from his vehicle by firefighters. He was sedated by Magpas crew before he was taken to the neuro critical care unit by land ambulance.

He is believed to be in a serious but stable condition.

Two fire engines and a rescue vehicle attended the incident as well as the police helicopter.
