A man was rushed to hospital this morning (Thursday) after being injured by a falling pallet.
The East of England Ambulance Service and Magpas air ambulance were called to Moores Walk, in St Neots, shortly after 5.15am after reports that a man in his 40s had been injured by a pallet of flour, which fell on top of him.
A spokesman for Magpas said: “Magpas doctor Dave Leverton and paramedic Chris Hawkins arrived in the St Neots area via after a pallet, with 1.5 tonnes of flour on it, fell on a man in his 40s.
“The Magpas doctor and paramedic worked alongside the ambulance service to assess the patient. They administered pain relief and anti-sickness drugs for the man who suffered injuries to his lower body.”
The man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, by land ambulance in what the spokesman described as a “stable condition”.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said that the man suffered “a suspected pelvic injury and had back and abdomen pain” and added that his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
