A driver has been arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply them after police stopped a BMW car in Huntingdon.

Officers on patrol in the Oxmoor area pulled the vehicle over in California Road at about 8pm on May 10 and could smell what they suspected to be cannabis coming from inside the vehicle.

They searched the car and found what was believed to be a quantity of cannabis, cocaine and drug-related paraphernalia.

A 23-year-old man from Huntingdonshire was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply and was released under investigation.

A police spokesman said: “We won’t tolerate the supply of illegal drugs in our communities. Report suspicious activity to police on 101 or to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
