A MAN has been arrested after drugs were seized during a police raid in St Ives. Officers executed warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act at two properties in Orwell Close and one in Barley Close at 10am on Tuesday (September 28). The operation was led by St Ives neighbourhood policing team. At one of the Orwell Close properties a 46-year-old man was arrested and a small quantity of a drug, believed to be heroin, was seized. The man, who was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug, was bailed to return to Huntingdon Police Station on November 5. St Ives Sector Inspector Steve Poppitt said: These warrants were part of an ongoing operation to combat drug misuse in St Ives. The neighbourhood team took action as a result of information received from the community. Drugs offences will not be tolerated in St Ives and these raids demonstrate our commitment to tackling them.
