Police have images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened at 9.30am on Friday (April 8).
Two men approached the 71-year-old as he used the cash point, and distracted him after he had entered his PIN number before helping themselves to his cash.
The pair ran off to a dark blue saloon car in Priory Road when a security guard approached them.
Detective constable Kirsten Kitchen, investigating, said: “This was a callous robbery of an elderly man.
“We are keen to speak to the two men pictured as we believe they may hold important information to assist our investigation.”
