A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault on a woman.
Police were called to a house in Over, near Needingworth, by the ambulance service shortly after 8am on Monday (July 11).
The victim, who is in her 60s, had suffered severe head injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where she remains in a critical but stable condition. The assault is being treated as an isolated incident.
Paul Bond, 61, of Willingham Road, Over, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday).
