AN INFORMATION day in St Ives will show people who look after sick or disabled relatives how to avoid missing out on vital benefits and support. The Carers Rights Day event on Friday (December 2) is being organised by Crossroads Care Cambridgeshire and Carers UK, and is this year focused on the theme money matters. The aim of the day is to inform carers of the rights, benefits and services they are entitled to, and representatives from the Village Benefits Service will also be on hand to offer advice. Sonja Dutton, head of support and information services at CRCC, said: If you are looking after an older or disabled relative, money matters carers face higher bills and have often given up work to care. Our event will provide vital advice and information to anyone looking after an ill or frail family member to make sure they know their rights to financial and practical support. INFOMRATION: Carers can drop in to the Crossroads Care Cambridgeshire office at 4 The Meadow, Meadow Lane, St Ives, between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Friday, or call on 01480 499091.
