Work to improve an access road leading to the A1 is set to begin on November 4.

Major improvements to the road surface of the B1043 where it crosses the A1 near Alconbury will be carried out, kerbing and blockwork will be replaced and repaired and areas of footway will be repaired.

The work is expected to be completed in two weeks at a cost of £180,000.

The working hours will be between 8pm-6am. A convoy traffic control system will be in force when the workforce is on site and the slip road access to the A1(M) northbound will also be closed with a signed diversion operating. At other times the road and the slip road will be completely open to vehicles.
