Huntingdonshire Regional College is closed to students today (Friday) because of a lack of water at the site.
A spokesman for the college said the facility, in California Road, Huntingdon, had no mains supply and the decision was therefore taken to close to students.
The spokesman said: “The college is closed today due to a local water issue and there is currently no mains water on site.
“Clearly this is a welfare and hygiene issue and for that reason we have had to make the decision to close the college today.
“All students have been informed by text and staff are on hand if any students arrive.”
The spokesman added that the college was expect to re-open as normal on Monday.
It is believed the loss of mains water at the college is linked to the burst water main in Huntingdon’s St John’s Street and George Street, which caused widespread traffic disruption in the town on Thursday and Friday. The repair was completed late on Thursday evening.
