QUEUES remain on the A14 westbound carriageway after it was blocked earlier today (Thursday) due to a lorry fire.

Firefighters were called to the dual carriageway between the Fenstanton and St Ives junctions at 11.17am to reports of a heavy goods vehicle’s trailer on fire.

Crews from Huntingdon, Papworth, Cambridge and water carrier from Yaxley are tackling the fire to the rear wheel of the trailer, which was carrying non-toxic green waste.

The carriageway was closed until 12.35pm. The Highways Agency expects the road to be cleared by 1.15pm.
