Lorries collide on A14

FIRE crews attended a five-vehicle collision on the A14 on Saturday morning (December 17).

The crash happened about a mile west of Bar Hill on the eastbound carriageway at about 5.15am, and involved three cars and two lorries.

Crews from Huntingdon and Cambridge and a rescue vehicle from Huntingdon attended the incident. There were no casualties, and crews made the scene safe before returning to their stations by 6am.

The collision was one of several on the county’s roads on Saturday morning, prompting police to issue a warning to motorists.

Officers attended 12 incidents between 5am and 8.45am on Saturday, though there were no serious injuries.

A spokesman said: “The weather is making driving condition very difficult and I would urge drivers to take care when out on the roads.”
