Police say that lives ‘could be at serious risk’ if a series of arson attacks in Bluntisham continue.

Officers have receieved reports of three incidents in the village in the last month and are appealing for information in a bid to track down the offenders.

Two instances of arson were reported in Colne Road in September - one in a disused building opposite the village primary school, and the second in a corner of a field near Bluntisham Village Hall.

A third incident took place on Saturday, October 15, with trees set alight in an orchard area alongside Colne Road.

Officers say “four or five young males” were seen running away from the scene by residents who managed to put the fire out.

PC Chris Shaw said: “Police are worried that if there is another such incident, property or lives could be at serious risk, and would like to hear from anyone who has any information that might help put a stop to these incidents.”
