A life-saving defibrillator has been installed at the home of a community football club, thanks to a generous donation.

Property services firm Wates purchased the £850 piece of equipment for use at the home of Godmanchester Town and parent club Godmanchester Rovers, the David Wilson Homes Ground.

The facility is home to nine teams, including senior, under 18 and colts sides, with hundreds of players regularly taking part in the sport.

A spokesman for Godmanchester Town said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to Wates for buying us a defibrillator. It means a lot for us to have on site, it will mean a lot for the community and for our parent club Godmanchester Rovers FC for all to have access to it.

“We are very lucky to have companies who want to work and support us, everyone from Godmanchester Town would like to say a massive ‘thank you’.”
