A Huntingdon-based care home celebrated National Care Home Open Day on April 21.

Residents and visitors at Primrose Hill Care Home, in Thames Road, celebrated in style during the open day, adhering to the theme ‘Sandy shores at Primrose Hill’.

The day, part of a national event, is celebrated to try and raise awareness of care homes as a link with the community.

Entertainment was provided by Mike Gee throughout the afternoon, as well as a fun day full of ice cream and fish and chips, along with a coconut shy and tin alley.

The mayor of Huntingdon, Councillor Jay Dyne also visited the residents and joined in with all of the festivities.

Vee Wheeler, office manager at Primrose Hill, said: “Everybody was in the seaside mood and it was lovely to see all of the visitors who came to our home.”
