THERE was better news for the Liberal Democrats in the Huntingdon East by-election for Huntingdon Town Council, where their candidate scraped in ahead of the Tories.

Robert Pugh (L) 385
Kevin Sumner (LD) 909 – elected
Pidley-cum-Fenton: John Armstrong, Sarah Austin, Daniel Brown, David Hopkins, Bob Johnson, Michael Newman, and Paul Wilderspin - elected. Rebecca Harper - not elected.
