Huntingdon residents who want to put something back into their community by standing as a councillor have been invited to a special session being run by Huntingdon Town Council.
The authority is running a Be a Town Councillor event at the town hall on January 25, starting at 7pm.
Natasha Pierson, deputy town clerk, said: “If you feel passionate about Huntingdon and want to make a difference in your local community, come along to the town hall to find out about the role of a town councillor and the work of Huntingdon Town Council.
“The open evening will include information about standing as a candidate, the work and services of Huntingdon Town Council and the role and responsibility of a town councillor here in Huntingdon.”
The council is holding the session ahead of elections in May and further information is available from town.council@huntingdontown.gov.uk or by calling 01480 388388.
