He stopped to sign autographs and had pictures taken with members of the public who were waiting to see him, chanting his name as he emerged from the Marriott Hotel, on Saturday.

About 150 people had been waiting outside the hotel for a chance to see the man they believe could be the next prime minister.

It was the first time that the party had held its conference in Huntingdon and Mr Corbyn was given a standing ovation when he arrived and after his speech.

He told the conference: “The Labour message is getting through in every part of the country”.
