Godmanchester Running Club have raised more than £700 to help local resident and MS sufferer Amy Bosse by holding a Santa Chase.
The money is going to be used to help Ms Bosse adapt her home to become more independent.
So far a total of more than £31,000 has been raised towards Amy’s target of £70,000 and the £700 raised by the runners will go towards that.
The event, which took place on December 16, saw 50 runners take part, and was a themed Christmas run between the four pubs in Godmanchester.
The race, in its third year, raised more than £200 on the day, and an additional £500 through race entries and a Crowdfunding page.
John Finch, 58, who has run with the club for nearly three years now, said: “It feels particularly great to raise any amount when it is especially for somebody in our own town and who has a real need.
“Much of the normal charity fundraising goes into a big pot and you are never sure which area it goes to. For this event, we know it gets to a local person.”
