Charles Robinson hopes to open a Budgens food store in February by transforming a former showroom.

Mr Robinson, a third generation owner of the family-run transport firm, said the move would create 15 full- and part-time jobs.

“We’ve been looking at it for some time,” he told The Hunts Post. “We are converting the garage salesroom, as we have the room and opportunity, into a 2,220 sq ft food store. We looked at all the different things we could do with our space and a food store would be most viable.”

Mr Robinson added: “It will bring a lot more people into Kimbolton and keep a lot of here. It will be the only store of its kind for miles. Currently people have to go to St Neots or elsewhere.

“It will make Kimbolton an attractive shopping destination and benefit other retailers.”
