Kimbolton School posts another set of excellent GCSE results

STUDENTS and staff at Kimbolton School were celebrating another good set of GCSE results in 2012.

Those who achieved five or more A*- C grades, including English and Maths, stood at 96 per cent while 98.9 per cent of students achieved five or more grades at A* - C.

Hope Carpenter, of Weekley, achieved a jaw-dropping 11A*s and was closely followed by Millie Harris of Godmanchester and Thomas Orme of Great Stukeley with 10 A*s and one A each.

“I was shocked to see my results, although when I opened my envelope I was just relieved and didn’t really see what I got,” Hope told The Hunts Post.

Tom Orme added: “When I opened my envelope I couldn’t believe it.

“It just didn’t seem real.”

Tom is staying at Kimbolton to study A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics and hopes to read aerospace engineering at university.”

Head teacher, Jonathan Belbin, told The Hunts Post: “Not only are we delighted by another excellent set of results but it is pleasing to see how many of those at the top end were fully immersed in other school activities, such as our stage production, a marathon canoe race and representative sport during the run-up to exam period.

“Our pupils represent a relatively broad ability range and yet with hard work and committed teachers have achieved results of which they should be very proud.”
