A MAN who sexually abused a teenage girl more than a decade ago has been jailed for eight years.

Leslie Day, 48, raped the victim when she was just 13 at an address in March, Cambridgeshire, in the 1990s. He also sexually assaulted her several times.

The victim came forward to police in March, last year, after telling a friend what had happened.

Day, who was living in Kilkenny, Ireland, was arrested in February and extradited back to Cambridgeshire.

He pleaded guilty to rape, attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault and gross indecency with a child at Cambridge Crown Court.
