A BY-ELECTION in St Ives for a town council seat left vacant by the resignation of a new councillor who objected to wearing ceremonial robes and addressing the female mayor as ‘Mr Mayor’ is scheduled for July 19.
The seat was abandoned by Jennifer Coville, of Laburnum Way, St Ives, within weeks of being elected in the May 3 poll as an Independent.
