Zane Harrison, 21, and Danny Armstrong, 24, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm at Peterborough Crown Court on June 1 and were handed sentences of four years and eight months and three years respectively. The court heard how the four victims were celebrating at a first birthday party in Great Northern Street, Huntingdon on August 23 last year when they stepped out for a cigarette. Harrison of Dunnock Way, in St Ives and Armstrong of Bernard Road, in Brampton, approached the men and used a wooden bat to beat them in a violent and unprovoked attack. The men were left with a number of injuries including fractures to the eye socket and jaw. Detective Constable Tom Nuttall, from the Huntingdon Serious Crime Team, said: We will not tolerate people who behave in this way in Huntingdon. This was an unprovoked attack by violent offenders against a family celebrating their childs first birthday. I hope the lengthy sentences given to Harrison and Armstrong will demonstrate the commitment by the police and the Crown Prosecution Service to bring offenders to justice.
