Would you Adam and Eve it? A slice of the East End is coming to St Neots as Eastenders and Strictly Come Dancing star Ricky Groves pops into town to raise money for a good cause.

FORMER EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing star, Ricky Groves, will be hosting a Help for Heroes charity event in St Neots next month.

Mr Groves, who played mechanic Garry Hobbs in the BBC1 soap, is joining forces with Dick Thomas, of Buckden Private Hire, for an evening of entertainment and fundraising at the town’s RAFA club.

The evening, on April 30, will include entertainment, an air cadet display, Buckden’s Stageworks performing songs from the musicals, and an auction.

Mr Thomas told The Hunts Post: “It’s a secret auction so people can send their bids in privately to the RAFA club, stating the item they want to bid for and their bid.”

There will also be a hog roast on the night, a bar and a free glass of wine.

“I think we’re going to be in for a good night if everyone digs deep for the auction and raffle,” he added.

Mr Groves told The Hunts Post: “We should raise a few quid for a very deserving cause and have a great time.”

INFORMATION: The Help for Heroes charity event takes place on Saturday, April 30, at 7pm. Tickets are 15 from 07740 440969.

Items for auction include a guitar signed by Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, a rugby ball signed by England coach Martin Johnson, a signed photograph of Amy Winehouse, a boxing glove signed by Henry Cooper and an original England shirt signed by Sir Geoff Hurst.

To place a secret bid for any of these items write to The RAFA Club, 44 Huntingdon Street, St Neots, PE19 1DU for attention of Mr Ray Winton, club secretary.
