BURGLARY victims are being urged to check a Facebook gallery to see if their possessions are in a 5,000-item haul found by police.

Officers in Hertfordshire recovered the jewellery, watches and paintings from an address in the county – and believe some of them may have come from Cambridgeshire.

They are now trying to identify victims and reunite each item of property with its rightful owner.

Detectives in Cambridgeshire are currently contacting burglary victims and are urging people to visit the websites to identify the property. Three victims have already been identified in this county.

Detective constable Charlie McCabe said: “A large amount of property has been recovered in Hertfordshire and it is possible some of it may have been stolen in our county.

“I would urge everyone who has had property stolen to visit the websites to see if they can identify their items.”

Photographs and a video have been posted on the Hertfordshire Constabulary website and on its Facebook page - www.facebook.com/media/albums/?id=25547876945 under Operation Pop.
