Investigators say Broughton car fire was deliberate

Arsonists set fire to a car in Broughton on Tuesday night.

Firefighters from Huntingdon were called to School Road shortly before 10.30pm following reports that a car was ablaze.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

“The crew returned to station by 12.40am.”

An investigation revealed that the cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
