A teenager was forced to flee after masked raiders forced their way into his home in St Ives.

Cambridgeshire police said three men wearing bandanas had entered a house in Fairfields at about 7pm on January 3.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “We received reports of three men wearing bandanas forcing entry into a property in Fairfields, St Ives, on January 3 at approximately 7pm.

“A 13-year-old boy was home at the time but escaped to a neighbour’s house prior to the men leaving.”

It is understood the men stole jewellery from the house.

PCSO Lee Hurley said: “This was a very distressing incident for the residents concerned and a full investigation is under way.

“Anyone with any information about this offence, who saw or heard any suspicious people or vehicles, is asked to call Huntingdonshire burglary team on 101, or alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
