A Huntingdon nursery is celebrating after it received its second ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted.
The nursery, based at Huntingdonshire Regional College, received the recognition in all of the education watchdog’s criteria including leadership and management, teaching and learning, behaviour and welfare, and outcomes for children.
Fewer than 10 per cent of all schools and nurseries in the UK receive the top grading from Ofsted and manager, Pam Burton, said: ““I’m extremely proud of outstanding grading. I feel fortunate to be part of a team that go above and beyond for our children, families and community as a whole.”
The report by inspectors stated that the “children flourish in a highly stimulating and well-resourced learning environment” and “staff are excellent role models who work extremely well together as a team.”
Chantelle Watson, the college’s director of operations, added: “We are really proud of this excellent achievement which is a reflection of the continuing hardworking and dedication of the nursery team in maintaining these high standards”
Teddy Bear Nursery, which opened in 1988 and is run by Huntingdonshire Regional College, caters for 52 children up to four-years-old. It was first rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2011.
In order to continue improving, inspectors recommended that the nursery builds on its professional development programme for staff, to allow them to develop more skills.
