A series of meetings have been organised for anyone considering becoming a governor of the new North West Anglia Foundation Trust.

The name of the new trust was announced earlier his week and will come into being on April 1 when Hinchingbrooke, Peterborough City and Stamford hospitals all combine to become one trust. Individual hospital names will remain, the trust is the name of the business and administrative arm of the three institutions.

The new board for the new trust has already been appointed and the task now is to find 17 public governors and seven staff governors to sit on the Council of Governors.

Six information sessions are being held in January for anyone considering standing as a public or staff governor.

Stephen Graves, chief executive designate, of the new trust, said: “The aim of these sessions are to provide as much information as possible to anyone who wants to stand as a governor ahead of the formal governor elections in March 2017. We do not underestimate the power of local voices in helping shape our new trust, and I am confident there will be no shortage of local people who want to play their part in influencing how their local hospital serves its community.”

The sessions take place on:

January 9 - 3pm-5.30pm and 6.30pm-9pm in the meeting hall at Stamford Hospital.

January 10 - 4.30pm-7pm in the partnership suite, Education Centre, at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

January 16 - 2.30pm-5pm and 6.30pm-9pm in the board room at Peterborough City Hospital.

January 23 - 2pm-4.30pm in the hill room, Education Centre, Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
