STAFF from The Hunts Post will out pounding the streets of Huntingdon on Sunday (June 20) to raise money for Hinchingbrooke Hospital’s special care baby unit.

Five members of staff will be taking part in the Huntingdon 10k, which starts and finishes by Huntingdon Racecourse, to raise money for the New Life Appeal.

All proceeds from the appeal are being used to help buy new equipment and refurbish the maternity unit and the special care baby unit.

Two of the runners, including Hunts Post editor Andy Veale, have had their children cared for by the dedicated staff who work on SCBU.

“This is a cause that is close to our hearts, not only as it is a Hunts Post campiagn, but because many of our colleagues have had their children at Hinchingbrooke and have been delighted with the care and attention that they received,” said Mr Veale.

The team is looking for more people to dig deep and provide some sponsorship.

“If you’re son or daughter was born at Hinchingbrooke then we’re asking you to spare a few pounds to help make sure Huntingdonshire’s newest arrivals have the best possible equipment to help them into the world.”

The 10k race is is being organised by the Rotary Club of Huntingdon Hinchingbrooke. Some places are still available and runners will be able to enter on the day - subject to numbers. See www.huntingdon10kcharityrun.co.uk for details.
