Fire crews were sent to Sundown Straw Products, which processes straw for food for farm animals, in Station Road, Tilbrook at 9.25am on Sunday (August 19). They arrived to find a fire in a tub grinding room affecting around two tonnes of straw. Firefighters from Kimbolton, St Neots, Huntingdon, Sawtry and Gamlingay used on site machinery to remove straw from the grinder. They were back on base by 1.50pm. The cause of fire is believed to be accidental. On August 2 last year a fire affecting around three tonnes of straw started in the grinding tub and just five weeks later, firefighters were back on scene attending a fire in an electrical substation on site. The last incident was in November, when another fire broke out in the grinding tub.
