The restaurant is one of 39 venues that has been awarded Bib Gourmand status for offering excellent food at moderate prices. Simon Cadge, chef patron, said: We normally like to say that guidebooks dont matter, we only care about what our guests say. But today were definitely celebrating. Its particularly nice to receive this award that is for both quality and value-for-money. We are trying to be a great pub-restaurant, but one at a price range that everyone can afford occasionally. The guide described the restaurant as hidden away in a sleepy hamlet, this is a big pub with enormous character; think exposed beams, hunting scenes, John Bull wallpaper and a stuffed albino pheasant. Wide-ranging seasonal menu includes a classic section; excellent value set menu. Warm, attentive staff and delightful rear terrace. The Pheasant was closed earlier this year by the previous owners, but was reopened in January by the owner of Huntingdons Old Bridge Hotel, John Hoskins, whose father set up his first business at the Keyston restaurant in 1964.
