A STUDENT from Huntingdonshire Regional College is hoping to become Miss Cambridgeshire 2012.
Megan Borg, who is half way through a fashion course at the college, will be competing with 11 other hopefuls to be crowned in a ceremony in Newmarket on October 22.
The 17-year-old, from Cottenham, recently found out that she had made the shortlist.
She said: “I saw the advert in a magazine and thought I might try it and thought nothing of it. “I was really surprised when I got the message – I’m still in shock now. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Megan is now trying to raise as much money for Beauty with a Purpose, a charity which helps children all over the world who are disabled or have been affected by bullying.
“I’m hoping I will raise about 1,000 for the charity by holding cake sales and people donating freely. It’s for a great cause and helps a lot of people all over the world,” she added.
