The event was attended by 31 people who were asked how they felt about the proposal to move the construction course to the California Road campus in Huntingdon. College bosses also wanted to know what the public thought of its funding plans, and what action they should take to support students from St Neots. Mayor of St Neots, Barry Chapman, who is strongly against the closure, told The Hunts Post: It is clear there is united opposition to the closure from Huntingdon MP Jonathan Djanogly, councillors at county, district and town level and principals of our secondary colleges. Without the St Neots Campus HRC will no longer serve our area and central government future funding should reflect this. The current campus land must remain designated for education use by a more forward-looking establishment The results of the consultation were presented to HRC governors on yesterday evening (Tuesday) , with a decision expected some time in April.
