Glebe Farm Foods, based in Kings Ripton, makes gluten free oats, cereals, and flour as well as a host of other products, and was invited by retailer Morrisons to pitch to its customers and executives. More than 75 producers from across East Anglia applied for their products to be considered and just 15 were asked to attend the showcase event, held in Norfolk, on April 11, including Glebe Farm. The business is run by farmers Rebecca and Marc Rayner, who will find out in the next few weeks whether they have done enough to earn a chance to pitch their items to company bosses at the Morrisons head office, in Bradford. Glebe Farm is aiming to gain a listing alongside regional products already stocked in Morrisons, including Cromer crab and Old Speckled Hen. Richard Jones, Morrisons development chef, said: The region has a long history of great, local food and the producers weve seen today have been no exception. After seeing the quality of the food here in East Anglia today, were keen to put even more food made locally on our customers plates.
