A DRINK driver was stopped by police after CCTV operators tipped off officers.

Cambridgeshire police were alerted on December 22 after Rory Parker’s Volkwagen Scirocco was spotted on CCTV and operators raised concerns.

The 20-year-old, of High Street, Fenstanton, was stopped on the A1123 at 3am and Parker was taken back to Huntingdon Police Station where he gave a reading of 71 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

He was also found to have cocaine in his possession and was given a police caution.

On Thursday (January 10) Parker admitted driving with excess alcohol and was given an 18-month driving ban, fined £100 and ordered to pay £40 court costs and £20 victim surcharge.
