Huntingdonshire District Councillor John Pethard has died aged 71. Flight Lieutenant Pethard, of Station Road, Warboys, died at Thorpe Hall, Peterborough, on Saturday, after a short illness.
Councillor Jason Ablewhite, executive leader of HDC, said: “It is a truly sad day when you lose a colleague. John was a committed and hard-working councillor for his community and a well-respected member of the Conservative team. He will be sadly missed and our sincere condolences go to his wife Ruth and his family.”
Flt Lt Pethard was elected as councillor for the Warboys ward in 2012.
The funeral will be at Fenland Crematorium at 12.30pm on May 9. Donations, if desired, can be made to the Thorpe Hall Capital Appeal.
