Drama school students from Huntingdon impressed audiences with musical show-stoppers ranging from fairytale favourites to iconic film soundtracks at the Cresset Theatre, in Peterborough.

10 students from Stagecoach Performing Arts School, based in Huntingdon, joined more than 200 pupils from schools across the country to perform a dynamic set list, which included everything from 1970s classics such as Rainbow Connection to modern favourites such as Pharrell Williams’ Happy.

After warming up for the event for weeks, the Huntingdon students wowed audiences with their renditions of various family favourites from The Lion King.

Stagecoach Performing Arts Huntingdon principal, Jo Featherstone, said: “The students have worked incredibly hard on the performance and it certainly paid off. It was fantastic seeing them on stage as co-stars, singing and dancing so confidently and getting the audience involved.”
