A Huntingdon woman has been ordered to pay more than £1,600 after fraudulent Council Tax claims spanning four years.
Helen Mckillop, of Surrey Road, failed to inform Huntingdonshire District Council that her partner lived with her as she claimed a 25 per cent Council Tax discount for living alone between September 2009 and September 2013.
An investigation by HDC’s fraud team showed Mckillop, 47, had received more than £800 in reductions.
On April 2 at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court, Mckillop admitted fraud and was ordered to repay £827, as well as being fined £500 and told to pay £300 to the council.
