A baton-twirling team from Huntingdon has topped off a successful year of competition with Kerrin Gilbody from the troupe being crowned Miss UK Federation of Majorettes Deputy.

The 22-year-old, from Sawtry, has been part of the Blue Vision Twirling Troupe for 11 years and helps train younger team members.

Kerrin’s duties will include travelling across the south of the country representing the association and presenting trophies at various competitions. She will finish at the end of her year in the role at the UKFM National Championships at Camber Sands, in West Sussex.

The team has also retained its title as Best Military Marching Troupe for the third successive year, along with many other solo, duo and group placings in competitions throughout the year.

Troupe leader Jo Bathurst said: “I am so proud of all the girls and trainers for their hard work, dedication and commitment. It’s been a fantastic year, which they should all be very proud of.”
