HUNTINGDON has been revealed as the most well-read places in the country - for the third year running.

Web retailer Amazon has compiled the sales of books, magazines and newspapers in print and in eReader format for Kindles with Huntingdon coming on top, ahead of Doncaster, Rochester and Sevenoaks, who make up the rest of the top four.

Cambridge came in at fifth.

The list shows that Huntingdon's residents read the widest variety of books from travel books to non-fiction.

"The results of our annual Most Well-Read Cities list have revealed once again that residents of Huntingdon are passionate about reading because they have made the top spot for the third year running," said Jorrit Van der Meulen, vice president, EU Kindle.

"Kindle devices are the best-selling eReaders by far and millions of customers in the UK choose from a vast selection of 1.5 million books every day — from best-selling titles, to hidden gems which are self-published on Kindle Direct Publishing — all this is available to download in less than 60 seconds."
