A taxi driver was hit on the head and ordered to hand over money in a robbery last week.

The victim had picked up the fare at Huntingdon Railway Station at about 7.30pm on Wednesday (March 12), before taking him to Grafham.

However, when they got to Church Road the offender threatened the driver and ordered him to hand over his takings.

He also hit him around the driver on the head. The taxi driver suffered minor injuries.

Detective constable Liz Cooper said: “This was a nasty incident and we are keen to trace the man responsible.

“Taxi drivers should be able to go about their business without fearing being attacked or robbed and we will not tolerate such offending.”
