A school which has been open for 50 years wound the clock back at the end of term when staff and pupils came dressed in outfits from the 60s.
Flower power was very much in evidence at Huntingdon Primary School for Sixties Day when the usual green uniform was swapped for bright coloured costumes and hip headbands.
The first pupils started at the Ambury Road school – still widely known as Huntingdon County – in September 1963 but the official opening of the county junior and infants school buildings was held the following spring, in March 1964.
Former staff and pupils were invited to the celebration of its 50 years on Thursday, April 3, which was marked with a special assembly.
Pupils tucked into a 1960s-style lunch of shepherd’s pie followed by cornflake tart. There was also a huge flower-shaped cake and a whole host of colourful cup cakes.
