Huntingdon’s champion allotment holders are crowned

The winners of Huntingdon Town Council’s annual allotment competition were crowed this week.

The mayor of Huntingdon, Councillor Bill Hensley, presented prizes to the winners at the allotment holder’s forum, held at the town hall.

First place was awarded to Mariola Wilczynska, of plot number 22A at Sallowbush Road. Thomas Moody, of plot number 32A at Sallowbush Road, came a close second and third place went to Eileen Dighton, of plot 9, at Primrose Lane.

Cllor Hensley presented prizes of gardening gift vouchers to the winning plotholders. Additionally, Mrs Wilczynska was presented with the Hodson Challenge Cup, which she will retain for the year.
