A flood on Huntingdon’s ring road brought much of the town’s approach roads to a standstill this morning.
People had been warned to beware of gusts of up to 80mph as a storm, nicknamed St Jude, swept across the country.
But it was heavy rain which led to delays for drivers as vehicles went from two lanes into one as they negotiated the flood near Huntingdonshire District Council’s offices.
Traffic stretched back through Godmanchester and Hartford, delaying journeys by up to half an hour.
