HUNTINGDON’S Mayor Councillor Chris Doyle has resigned from office.
Huntingdon Town Council said the self-employed plumber, who runs his own business, decided to give up his mayoral duties ttwo-thirds of the way through a year in which he has had to cope with ill health, following an injury to his eye.
Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jennifer Sarabia - a former mayor herself - will take over some of the duties.
Further long-term arrangements will be made at the council’s meeting on January 6.
