Security officers saw Dean Robertson, 26, of Cherry Tree Close, on CCTV going into the Tesco Express in Stukeley Meadows on September 10 with a friend. Paul Brown, prosecuting, said Robertsons friend told him that he had no money but was going to steal two crates of Stella, worth £16. When he realised what his friend was doing he walked out ahead, Mr Brown told Huntingdon Magistrates Court on Thursday (November 15). When his friend came out of the shop he drank one of the beers, despite not agreeing with the theft. Both men were stopped by police on their way home. Unemployed Robertson admitted receiving stolen goods and was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 costs.
